It's not at all unusual for a rural school to have a student leave a hunting rifle in his car. This has been fine for decades, and it's not like he tried to get it in the door. If anything, this is an over-reaction, especially when the school is worrying about "little sticks that could be used as weapons" like pencils...

I know you'll get tired of hearing me say it but :-) HOMESCHOOL not gun legislation is the answer. Please Mr President if you never listened to another idea and you want to stop the killing grounds then implement homeschool. Step up to the plate make parents responsible for their children and possibly risk that a few parents may accidentally/actually (I couldn't decide on a word there so the decision is split between two.) but yea HOMESCHOOL
