Okmulgee considers banning open carry

The City of Okmulgee is considering an ordinance prohibiting people from openly carrying a weapon, despite a state law.

The Okmulgee City Council is holding a meeting on Tuesday evening to discuss adopting an ordinance to ban open carry within city limits.

Even if the ordinance passes state laws come before city ordinances and could be found void.

Doesn't he City of Okmulgee have anything more important to do, than spend time considering an ordinance that would be voided by state law?
