Morton Comprehensive Health Services celebrated the opening Thursday of its new location in East Tulsa.

The clinic, will offer services in medical and behavioral health for insured along with uninsured, high-risk populations.

Once housed in the Renaissance Plaza, across the street, the new location has more than 4,000 square feet, and will allow the clinic to serve more patients.

Robert Sanders, CEO of MCHS, told Fox 23 the facility was funded by a $3 million federal government grant to address the need in the community.

"Most of the people who live in this area access the emergency room a lot, most of them don't have health care services," Sanders said.

"It's really good that the clinic is here because they can do very good service and it's highly needed," patient Blanca Martinez said. "There are a lot more Hispanic families around this area that need this service here especially because there are bilingual speaking people here."

What is the source of funds which pays for the uninsured? I suggest that it be mandatory that anyone treated at this facility be a legal resident of the U.S. or that for ANY ILLEGAL to receive treatment, they provide the name of their employer. A bill for the services rendered would then be sent to the employer of the illegal. It seems that if the employer is aiding and abetting in the comission of a crime, ( that being aiding an individual in entering this country ILLEGALLY) they should be penalized. Why should the taxpayers have to subsidize this expense?
