TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Tulsa woman pleaded guilty to child neglect after one of her children was found locked in a metal dog cage and her husband passed out on drugs and alcohol in their home.
Erin Lewallen faces up to five years in prison after entering the plea Thursday in Tulsa County District Court. Sentencing is set for June 27.
Lewallen said she should have known her husband would likely neglect their children because of a back injury and alcohol problems.
Police found their 22-month-old daughter locked in the animal crate in November. A 3-year-old was also wandering around naked outside and another 3-year-old was naked and unsupervised.
Her husband faces trial in October.
