A doctor and an inmate were among those who took the stand today in the trial of Amber Hilberling. She is the woman accused of pushing her husband to his death from a Tulsa high-rise.
Thursday afternoon the state called the medical examiner who testified about the extensive injuries to Joshua Hilberling.
During his exam on June 8th, he noted numerous fractures and bruising as well as injuries to the chest, legs and spinal cord.
Photographs were shown in court -and many had to exit due to their graphic nature. The medical examiner testified that he believes Josh may have landed on his feet or on all fours - but not on his head.
The state also called inmate Bonnie Fulton. She told the court that she met Amber in jail in 2012l and that Amber told her, "She caught Josh off guard and shoved him and that she killed the bastard."
The defense immediately tried to discredit her by pointing out to the jury that Fulton had been convicted of lying and forgery numerous times.
The state also called Detective Jeffrey Felton. He testified that when he went to examine the apartment after Josh's death, nothing seemed out of place and nothing indicated a fight had ever happened.
The jury was also shown a video taken by police of Amber's interrogation. In it, she confesses that she is a horrible person and that she pushed her husband and made him fall out of the window.
The state finished calling its witnesses on Thursday. On Friday, it's the defense's turn and we expect them to call at least 4 witnesses. It’s not clear if Amber Hilberling will take the stand.
