A Cleveland County Sheriff’s Deputy and his K9 partner found nearly $2,500 worth of marijuana in a diaper bag during a traffic stop.
According to the Sheriff’s Office the drugs were seized during a traffic stop on March 1 in Noble. They say the deputy smelled marijuana in the car while conducting the traffic stop and speaking to the vehicle’s driver, 29-year old Eric Scott Matthews.
The deputy used his canine partner, the dog alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle. The deputy conducted a search and found a diaper bag that contained plastics bags, two plastic containers containing marijuana, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
Officials say the search also revealed a large hunting knife, two collapsible style police baton and five individually wrapped bricks of marijuana. The marijuana weighed a little more than 5 pounds.
Matthews was arrested on complaints of with unlawful possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful carry of offensive weapons and no tax stamp. He was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center.
