Tulsa police are investigating a suspicious death near Tecumseh and North Sheridan.
Police responded to a shots fired call shortly before 8p.m. Thursday night. FOX23 has learned that 33-year old Mark Masingale, Jr. was shot and killed at the home of Charon Powell.
Police said Powell is the mother of twin girls that were killed in a quadruple homicide at Fairmont Terrace in January. According to police, the two crimes are not connected.
Police said the shooter and victim were in an altercation outside the house before the shooting. The shooter lives at the residence and the victim is the son of the shooter’s girlfriend. The victim does not live at the residence, but was visiting when the fight broke out.
The shooter broke free from the victim and he ran into the house. The shooter retrieved a shotgun from the closet and as the victim was coming back into the house the victim was shot.
The shooter then waited for the police to arrive. Tulsa Police homicide detectives interviewed witnesses and the shooter and it was determined that the shooter would be released. The investigation is ongoing and will be turned over to the District Attorney’s office for review.
This is the 57th homicide in Tulsa for 2013.
