A Broken Arrow family woke up Sunday to find an intruder in their home.
They found him sitting at the kitchen table with a marijuana pipe too disoriented to know where he was.
Our FOX23 team has been checking into the case, speaking with the neighbors and Broken Arrow Police.
I'm told it's the kind of neighborhood that has a lot of walkers, kids playing outside, and everybody knows each other.
Every neighbor we talked to was surprised to hear what happened and said it's just not something that ever made their list of things to worry about happening in their home.
FOX23 asked neighbors for their reaction after explaining the story.
"No, it's pretty bizarre," said neighborhood Jim Weir.
In his 15 years there, Jim Weir has never heard of anything even close to this happening.
"We're a pretty close-knit neighborhood here and really don't have those kinds of issues," Weird said.
Early Sunday morning a family on West Pittsburgh Place woke up to find an intoxicated man in their kitchen.
Twenty-six-year-old Travis Navaro had a pipe full of weed and other paraphernalia on him when police arrested him for burglary.
The neighborhood doesn't have a history of crime, but this has Weir concerned.
"We have a mix of single parents in the neighborhood, as well as a lot of families with kids and things like that," said Weir.
Weir says people in the neighborhood look out for each other. He thinks the fact that they all know each other would help them recognize something wrong when if see it.
But even if you live somewhere that's always been safe, he says it's still important to watch out for each other.
"You know people keeping their doors locked, and just open their eyes and kind of see what's going on around the neighborhood. You see TV sometimes and know there are a lot of issues."
Navaro is charged with first-degree burglary because people were home when he is accused of breaking in.
That is a felony, and he's held on $20,000 bond in the Tulsa County Jail.
