A man accused of shooting four people, killing one, will be in court today for an arraignment.
41-year-old Mark Hopkins is charged with one count of first degree murder and three counts of shooting with intent to kill.
Late Thursday night, three Spartan College of Aeronautics students were injured, and one killed when another student allegedly opened fire at the Spartan Landing Apartments near Pine and Mingo. 18-year-old Chaz Fain died on scene.
"I am at a loss for words to fully describe my emotions," says Spartan President Jeremy Gibson. "We all must comfort, support and pray for the students injured and affected, and especially for the loss that Mr. Fain's family and friends have experienced.
Gibson issued a statement on the school website, sending his compassion to victims, their families and the rest of the Spartan community. The statement says that grief councilors will be on-campus, assisting students and faculty.
Police arrested 41-year-old suspect Mark Hopkins. He's being held without bail.
