James Johnson sounds like a racist himself. Why is he saying the Juneteenth festival in the Brady District is stealing money from Greenwood? No one but blacks attend the Juneteenth on Greenwood, but now lots of people will attend Juneteenth at Guthrie Green. That's not money "stolen" from Greenwood since none of the people attending would have gone to the Greenwood one. Fact.

Any celebration designed for one particular racial group is divisive and abusive to those who fight for equality. It should be ended immediately.

First, I'm thrilled to have the Juneteenth back. Though I'm not African American this has always been one of my favorite Tulsa celebrations/festivals. I always run into friends from junior high and high school that I haven't seen in years. As for the Brady District and Tate Brady, in particular, I say bring it on. I'm against changing the name of the Brady District because keeping the name is an every day reminder of the vile, deranged man that he was, and how his life ended in ruins. We will NEVER forget Tulsa's sordid history of what Tate Brady and the KKK did to people; rounding them up and tarring people. (African Americans) We will never forget the massacre that happened in Greenwood. If we were to exhume Tate Brady's body we'd find a hole in his skull from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. He died a beaten, old man that commit suicide. He lost. The rest of us won. Every day when we say, 'The Brady District" we remember not a bigshot man about Tulsey Town, but the man that was a racists and murderer that died at his own hands; beaten by life. Bring on Juneteenth!

wow. try as they might i will always call the district for what it was named for. Brady street. they are welcome to come. if they dont want to then they dont have too. think they need to read the article about how the black community in detroit has embraced the wall as a sign of what they have overcame.
