Young businessman from an area of Tulsa notorious for violent crime wants to change the perception in shine a positive light in North Tulsa.

Justin Daniels and Greg Hope are working together and have launched ILoveTulsa.com on Facebook to create a positive movement on the good that is happening in an area making headlines for crime.

"North Tulsa is more than the bad things that we see on the news, it is a place where we have strong and proud individuals," said Hope.

Daniels and Hope are both products of North Tulsa and both successful businessman who created the website.

"It's been a lifelong journey for me," said Daniels.

He grew up listening to people fed up with North Tulsa's bad rap and wanted to hear positive stories in the community.

"We have a lot to overcome in this journey. There is a negative perception of the place I live, I worship, work and where my family lives," said Daniels.

However, he wants to change that into a positive movement.

"It really is a 21st century civil rights movement, if you will," said Daniels.

He doesn't want protests but a place to breed strength in the North Tulsa community.

"It is colorless, it is ageless and it is not about socioeconomics,” said Daniels.

"I Love North Tulsa" is about bridging the gap between generations to build pride in a community that feels damaged.

"A strong North Tulsa is good for everyone and it's all about giving our community a positive avenue to show what's going on, to show what is happening,” said Hope.

The website is expected to launch Oct. 1, where it will be an online magazine offering faith. Fashion, mind, arts and entertainment, body, the family, community events and North Tulsa pride.

Daniels says he has the support of State Representative Kevin Matthews (D), Senator Jabar Shumate (D) and Tulsa City Councilman Blake Ewing.
