Tulsa Public School officials say a campus police officer was injured by a fire that caused Hale High School to be evacuated on Monday afternoon.

Officials say the school, near 21st and Memorial, was evacuated around 3:15 because of what they initially thought was a possible chemical spill. TPS officials now say a student set a roll of toilet paper on fire.

Officials say TPS Campus Police Officer Charles Gadd tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher and inhaled a lot of smoke.

Gadd was taken to the hospital and was released this morning. The student who started the fire faces two counts of arson with injury.

Now they are going to have to create their own TPS fire department to keep this out of the papers. Would love to see the surveillance video of the clown with the fire extinguisher.
