New steps are being taken to crack down on food stamp waste.
Governor Mary Fallin signed a bill putting limits on how the money can be spent. Beginning November 1st, EBT cards will no longer be allowed to be spent on liquor, cigarettes, strip clubs, or gambling.
The governor has already approved a bill, which would require food stamp recipients, without children between the ages 18 and 50, to work at least 20 hours per week.
