Total BS.. Where are her injuries? Just the mention of her eyes gives the real answer..con! It's sad.. I don't buy cheap ecigs but I've looked at what actually can happen..what she claims is impossible! I smoked for almost 30 years 3 packs/day.. I have COPD and thanks to my ecigs.. I can breath again! She should be ashamed! Fox, please look into this! It may have malfunctioned, but what she claims happened is TRULY IMPOSSIBLE! ThisBS can cause people like me harm!

lul @ electric man. Story is fab'd, unlike the tobacco corp this industry does take this very seriously. Do you really believe everything they say on FOX? If they told you it would be best for your health to jump of a bridge, would you do it? You really think we are addicts tho? Nicotine is no different from caffeine, Slightly raises blood pressure and is a vascular constrictor. All temporary effects that do not cause bodily harm unless you are personally sensitive to these conditions. You sir are the sheep of the world. Sit down and stop speaking.

We have spoken to the woman who was the subject of the story and she has confirmed that, contrary to reports, the device did not "explode" and is fully intact."

Li-ion batteries have had issues in the past in all types of electronics- Notebook Computers, Cell Phones, the batteries used in the Chevy Volt, HID flashlights. Basically anything they're used in. Electricman would have you ban all technology for the occasional negative occurrence. The safety profile of these batteries will improve over time, perhaps as early as next year. In the meantime, people need to be aware of the dangers and warning signs. I find this story a bit far fetched, but anything's possible. It would have been more credible it the actual battery was used in the story.
