Muskogee County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people they say sold drugs to cover their gambling costs.
Jimmie Warren Sumpter, 67, and Caroline Sue Hawbaker, 66, were arrested after meeting with two undercover Sheriff’s deputies to sell 359 pills including soma, Xanax, and loratab for more than $2000.
Deputies say the couple was arrested on Sunday afternoon. When questioned deputies say the couple told them the money made on the pills was used to pay bills because they used their social security money to gamble.
Sumpter and Hawbaker face charges of possession of controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and unlawful delivery of narcotic.
