The people of Claremore have a mystery on their hands.

FOX23 learned of an explosion that many people heard, but no one saw.

FOX23 News contacted Claremore police and the Rogers County sheriff, who both say they received a number of calls from across town and in surrounding areas of a bomb going off.

A sergeant told FOX23 that several of officers heard a large boom that shook the buildings and police received several reports from all over town and surrounding communities.

Despite all the reports, no one has been able to locate any evidence of an explosion or a site where the sound originated.

But officers and deputies promise to keep looking.

If you live in Claremore and head the explosion, we'd love to hear from you.

I think it might be a UFO or several ufos. The Air force might be chasing them but some ufos are capable of creating sonic booms. Before the booms I have seen what appeared to be a "disco ball" suspended in mid air then started to move slowly, then reversed direction, no sound in Tulsa.

Leftovers from the Big Bang. We live in the middle of a very old, very large explosion that is still expanding...and will continue to for several billion more years. They are small packets of energy that occasionally pass through our small planet and cause the kind of 'boom' that's heard but has no detectable source...it might actually be a normal interaction between neutrinos and some rare elemental configuration that is not really known, let alone understood at this instant in time.

Check out http://www.bookofresearch.com/mysterious-sounds-around-the-world.htm and play the first video http://youtu.be/M0BvIySscEY The boom sounds from this video is what I heard before Christmas and on new years around midnight. I don't think the air force would be flying that late of night doing training to create a sonic boom. But the air force needs to be contacted to find out if their was a jet in the area of the time that these sounds was created.

I often try to get the same effect with my stereo. The cops stopped by to tell me to cool my afterburners.

I too heard it. I live just north of town. It was just one quick boom that sounded like it came from the southwest. I haven't heard a sonic boom in so long I don't really remember how one sounds, so it could be that. It was loud enough here it scared my cat and made him want to come back in.

I live in adair Oklahoma and before new years and on new years night I heard the boom sound. I could tell the difference between the fireworks because its a way different sound. My brother Michael thinks it might be created by a sonic boom from a jet. I've done research into these boom sounds and they have happened all across the world with in these last couple of years. These booms could very well be created by the increasing solar flares. Check http://www.bookofresearch.com/mysterious-sounds-around-the-world.htm

It sounds to me like something breaking the sound barrier, and that's why no one can see it, but the houses are getting shaken...
