A note went on the front door Monday at Oklahoma Joe’s Barbeque, and it’s what has people talking. Joe Davidson put it there. He runs the restaurant. “We’re a Christian based aligned business,” said Davidson.

I don't think I understand why Joe Davidson just didn't look up the Camp on the internet after they approached him for donation/fundraiser? They have known the fundraiser was going to happen since January. It is April. Are you telling me he couldn't take the time out of a single day in 4 months to google Camp Quest? They aren't hiding anything from anyone. It's right there for anyone to see.

See the actual flyer that was given to the business ahead of time at This flyer makes no mention of their true goal to "Raise awareness of positive contributions made by atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers, and other nontheistic people to our society". This camp attempts to decieve and now the media is favoring them. Please Report the facts.

Funny that she says, "“We do not promote religion, we do not promote atheism,” said Eversole." but on the camp website under Goals of Camp Quest, it states one of their goals is to, "Raise awareness of positive contributions made by atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers, and other nontheistic people to our society"

Christian bashing is in right now. And the media jumps on it every time they get a chance. It used to be if you loved God and His Son you were ok because you believed in doing good and trying your best, even though we all fall short, to be good. Not surprised by this based on national media trends in painting Christianity and anyone partaking and being evil and out of touch.

One other thins 5Rainbows- Christians are not the only ones who have to bend. I am agnostic. Several of my atheist friends and I in our volunteer job where we also teach kids about science, are forced to give church groups, children who are home-schooled for racist and religious reasons and other wackjobs, the same consideration as more rational people. It turns my stomach when I CHILD wants to argue with me that the universe is only 6000 years old but I have to put up with it. I would prefer to not waste my time but the Civil Rights Act requires I do it.

5Rainbows-such an eloquent argument you make. Let me counter with Civil Rights Act of 1964 Title II- Sec.201(a) Doesn't say Christians have to bend- says EVERYONE who operates a place of public accommodation shall not discriminate. Oh...btw...This act was brought about in no small part by the actions of Christians who felt it was their right as such to discriminate against those they didn't like.

Again, Christians have to bend!

Why is it that Christians feel they can dodge the Civil Rights Act of 1964? Why is it that Christians automatically believe what another Christian says and discounts the words of a non-believer?

Why is it Christians are the ones that have to 'bend' when it comes to how they believe and what they want to support?

So the success of this camp rests solely on this one fundraiser, and it's all his fault that the camp can't take place??? something's not right... Where are the other supporters? Other businesses? Other churches, like those who are more flexible in their beliefs? Must not be such a good camp after all, if they can't get other supporters? If it's math and science related, then surely schools/universities would help out, too.
