Where is Veronica's voice and why should she have to "compromise"? If her best interest was the real goal, this would have ended when Veronica was a baby and her family began contesting this unethical adoption in court. Instead, it was drawn out over years and only recently finalized in a state she no longer lives in, and without a best interest hearing. She has been reduced to a commodity. Whatever "compromise" she is forced to participate in will be abuse.

Whoa, I just heard that Mr. Brown has another child???!!! if this is true, shame on him, the lawyers and the Cherokee Nation for supporting such a deadbeat. Once again, even if he signed his rights away to the mother, I admire her for doing a better thing for her child. Hardest thing a mother would ever have to do. Just proves the child will be better off with her LEGAL adoptive parents.

IN response to Brown's attorney's statement: The criminal matter and the civil dispute are obviously inextricably intertwined- Nobody WANTS for Mr. Brown to be locked up...the law just needs to be followed and he just needs to produce Veronica to her legal parents....if this cannot be handled civilly than how else can the law be enforced?

Very good point Disgruntle. LouseP and MBMcD both make very good points as well. I wish the Governor could be advised of your points. Veronica needs to be settled into a loving home with her legal parents.

This man is in the military and they are allowing him to break his oath that he took to uphold all the laws of the United States? Come on, that is as bad or worse than Fallin not upholding the laws that she took an oath to obey. She needs to honor the extradition request and make this man follow the law. Ignorance of what he signed is no excuse; he should have made sure he knew exactly what he was signing. But if I were his military commanders, I would be very leery of sending this young man into a situation that requires loyalty and honor because he is showing very little at this time. Make him give the child back to her LEGAL parents and uphold the law.

I have never thought of Oklahoma as a stupid state but apparently we do not know the meaning of legally signing parental rights away nor a legal adoption. Some mistakes in life get do overs but this is not one of them. I fear for adoptive parents everywhere. These parents did everything legally correct and yet Oklahoma and the Cherokee Nation do not seem to understand this. Shame on them and Brewster and Nigh. None of this would be happening if Mr. Brown had not renigged on a legal agreement he signed. he needs to feel how the adoptive parents felt when their legally adopted daughter was ripped away from them after 27 months.

I do pray that they get to see her today, and start a slow transition. My heart breaks for the whole situation that never should have happened.,
