FOX23 uncovered a serious theft problem in a Broken Arrow neighborhood.

It started with a phone call about a repeated theft in the Steeplechase Farms area.

FOX23's Melissa Hawkes spent the day in the area and found neighbors who said despite a quiet appearance, there are issues in the neighborhood.

Michelle Vidana told FOX23 she's had two vehicles stolen from her driveway, so she's passing out flyers urging her neighbors to lock their doors.

One morning, Vidana woke up, opened her garage door and was shocked at what she saw.

"My cars were missing. I can't believe it. It's the first time I've noticed a loss of anything," she said.

Her car was found a few blocks away, but her black Chevrolet Silverado truck was gone. It was found almost two weeks later in Tulsa.

Police arrested Kyle Kaspar and Amber Bower-Simmons. They were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to the address listed on the police reports, they live just 5 miles from Vidana and her family.

"I don't feel safe anymore. My sense of security is gone," she said.

FOX23 found she's not the only victim of theft in the neighborhood.

Neighbors said bicycles were stolen from the side of one home, and lawn equipment was taken from others.

"Obviously, there's crooks here that come and target this area of town. It makes me want to keep my truck really locked up, that's for sure." said Vidana.

Neighbors haven't seen Broken Arrow officers patrolling their neighborhood, so they told FOX23 they are coming up with their own plan to put a stop to the thefts.

"I think what we are going to have to do is start a neighborhood watch," said Vidana.

I lived in Miami, Fl for 10 years and if it wasn't bolted down, chained up, or locked in; it wasn't safe! People there put iron bars on every window and door because crooks will literally kick your door in in broad daylight, steal, kill, and rape your family. Broken Arrow residents are not street smart at all. They leave garage and front doors open all night long and their cars sitting in the driveway with the doors open and merchandise sitting around outside, bikes lying on the lawn just ready to steal. Get a clue!

"America's safest city" is certainly not Broken Arrow.

I understand you feel violated. All I can say is lock the garage. Good luck.
