Tulsa's Blue Dome Diner will close its doors by the end of the month, said Brian Prewitt, owner.
For 6 1/2 years regulars have been happy to drop by and enjoy a bite to eat.
Many said it is the atmosphere that has kept folks coming back to the Blue Dome District in Downtown Tulsa. But soon, the atmosphere will be gone.
"My concern right now is for my employees and for them to find jobs," said Prewitt.
Prewitt had to break the news about the diner closing to all 15 staff members a few days ago.
"Not only is it a restaurant, but Brian has hosted a lot of fund raisers here," said Jyl Johnson, customer.
"The fact that it's closing is a tragedy to American history," said David Moore, customer.
Prewitt said his lease is up and the property owner never gave him the option to renew.
"I like to look at it as we're not closing a business, we're just losing a place to do business. We're not done," said Prewitt.
