The aunt of two young girls that died in an apartment fire is charged with 2nd degree murder.

Police originally arrested Miashah Moses on a complaint of child neglect. They say she left the girls, 18-month-old Nylah and 4-year-old Noni Moses alone in the apartment while there was food cooking on the stove.

While she was gone a fire started and the girls were alone in the apartment.

The Moses family has told FOX23 they do not think Miashah Moses should be charged for the deaths.

First off I know this child personally and if you all knew like I know she had to take care of her siblings while her mother was taking care of business and work so I know that she was a VERY responsible young lady. Now every one makes mistakes in life while cooking. I know she could've just left but lost track of time. I am so tired of going into places listening to them talk about this News here. We cant just judge people y'all God is the last one with words as far a judging us. I don't think she be charged because her conscious is going to be there everyday she wakes up. I will continue to pray on this situation why don't you all consider prayer to as well.

The Dell City cop that deliberately shot an unarmed fleeing teen in the back was only charged with first-degree manslaughter, but a kitchen mishap is murder?

Of course it's child neglect, avienda, but that's not the same as murder. This tragedy should not be used to further careers.

Those babies should never have been left alone! Yes, it was an accident, but one that was very easily prevented had the adult acted responsibly! That's why it's child neglect!

The Auntie was hiding something. Police discovered from video surveillance that she lied about the amount of time that she was away from the apartment. I know that it was not her express intention to kill those little girls. It certainly was not her express intention to insure their safety, neglecting them locked in an apartment with food (chicken fries at about 400 degrees) on the stove. Yep they will probably be able to make a neglect charge stick like glue. Neglect can carry up to a life sentence.

Cooking mishaps are not murder, and children should not be used as political footballs.
