State Troopers were assisting Sapulpa police with a pursuit after the suspect vehicle was reported stolen and driving recklessly. The motorist was running other cars off the roadway, so troopers initiated a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI) to disable the suspect's vehicle and end the pursuit.

After the first TVI the suspect refused to stop and attempted to run over two state troopers who were on foot trying to stop the vehicle. In defense to their lives, both troopers opened fire and redirected the suspect away from them.

Another TVI was performed by a trooper who was pursuing the suspect's vehicle; the pursuit ended after the vehicle was disabled by police.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries reported. Suspect is a juvenile and the identity is being withheld.

"After the first TVI the suspect refused to stop and attempted to run over two state troopers who were on foot trying to stop the vehicle. In defense to their lives, both troopers opened fire and redirected the suspect away from them" Translation: Two cops tossed Stop Sticks in front of the approaching car and missed, so they began shooting at it. Stop letting spokespersons write your stories.

Instead of playing the obtuse cop terminology game, couldn't you have just said "stop sticks"?

Why is it illegal to reveal the identity of anyone, even a juvenile, who came very close to killing innocent citizens? That makes no sense at all. We need to repeal that BS law.
