Shalamar Ratliff is in jail tonight facing neglect charges and FOX23 has found out it's the 12th such case in as many days for Tulsa police.

FOX23 went to Tulsa County Jail to find out more about the case.

Shalamar Ratliff told police she could have had her mother watch her son but instead she decided to leave him in her car while she went to work.

Someone called Tulsa police reporting a baby left alone in a car in the freezing cold at Hillcrest hospital.

Police came out to find Shalamar Ratliff's 22-month old son in the car, and Ratliff inside the hospital working, where she'd been for seven hours.

It wasn't the first time police found her son alone.

A week earlier they came to her home after an alarm went off.

The child was inside with nobody taking care of him-- just some food left out for him in the kitchen.

Ratliff told police both times a cousin was supposed to be watching him.

But they were able to prove she lied, and just left him alone.

Tuesday, she finally admitted it to police and they arrested her on child neglect charges.

Ratliff faces two felonies for child neglect. Her bond was set for $50,000 and the child is in protective custody.

It's common sense on how to be a parent, if you dont WANT to give someone else the opportunity to help this child and give the child a decent life, and to love the child! Ridiculous how much children go through for these poor excuse of "addults & parents"

She didnt need daycare or an employee nursery......she said her mother could have watched her child but she chose not to let her. I hope the child finds someone who wants to take care of him and the mother is not allowed custody anymore.

Why was the child not taken into custody & the mother to jail the FIRST time it happened! Are we seriously playing games with a childs life? Come on now people common sense, if a "person" can do it once with no charge you think they wouldn't be ignorant enough to do it again?! Well hopefully she learns with these charges and gets ALOT of time to think on this! For the child thank god it was not a life lost!
