The style of wedding you choose should reflect the tastes and desires of you and your fiance. Your budget and the number of guests you wish to invite may also help to determine the style. However, your wedding style is best determined by the formality. Wedding styles are typically classified into four categories. They are very formal, formal, semi-formal, or informal. A very formal ceremony involves engraved invitations, a large buffet or sit-down dinner, full-length gowns, and formal photography. An orchestra or band is usually included for dancing. Very formal weddings generally take place in a church, synagogue, or hotel. A formal wedding has the same traditional elements, but is somewhat smaller than very formal weddings. Formal weddings are generally the most popular style. Like a very formal wedding, they can be held in a church or synagogue, but can also be held in a home. A semi-formal wedding differs in several ways. The wedding attire is less traditional, the number of attendants is less, and it may or may not have engraved invitations with response cards. Informal weddings generally take place in the daytime and do not involve traditional attire. The bride usually does not wear a long dress or suit. The food consists of punch and cake or cocktails and hors d'oeuvres (or-DERVES). Regardless of the style of wedding you choose, it is recommended that the style and color be similar throughout your wedding. For more information, contact a wedding professional.
