Response cards are a practical way to know how many people will be attending your wedding. Response cards are sent out to everyone on your guest list and are usually included in the invitation. It is important that you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope with each response card. Wedding invitations are sent anywhere from three to six weeks before the ceremony. Replies are usually received within ten days. For formal weddings, some brides decide to send out invitations six weeks early and select a three-and-a-half week deadline for replies. Should regrets be received, this would enable alternative guests to be invited. Generally, twenty to twenty-five percent of the guests invited will be unable to attend.
