Daycare centers and family care homes can be a special adventure to three year olds. At this age, many children enjoy interaction with their peers. Children are now able to suggest games and activities within their group, and have enough self-control to follow brief rules of play. For instance, hide-and-go-seek is popular, because its instructions are few and basic. This increased contact with friends may result in some clashes of will. Many states require caregivers to be trained in child development, so your child's provider will probably understand that most three-year-olds don't have the capacity to settle arguments on their own. Here's a new activity your child might be given-- formal learning. At this age, caregivers sometimes introduce loosely structured academic work, such as tracing the a letter of the alphabet, or covering a shape's outline with macaroni. Three-year-olds are able to follow simple directions for seat work, like those in coloring and craft activities, and may display a great deal of pride in showing their work to you or their teacher . An action-packed morning, followed by a nutritious lunch, will usually tire children enough to need a nap.
