Even before they master the skills of tennis, most children love bouncy tennis balls. Here's a rainy day project that lets them enjoy tennis balls when they can't bounce them. To begin, cover a table with several layers of newspaper. Set out poster paints and brushes. The children can decorate the balls to look like faces, animals, or whatever their imagination dictates. Best of all, you won't need to purchase new tennis balls for this project. In fact, the face lift you'll be giving the old ones may mean your children will enjoy them for longer. This means triple use- you first recycle the ball as an art project, then recycle it again as a tennis ball. By the way, don't forget to remind your children to let the balls dry before bouncing them.
