Children often find food tastier if they make it themselves. Here are some ideas that are safe for young children, since they don't involve the stove or oven. Kids can make fun sandwiches by using cookie cutters to cut out the bread, bologna, and cheese. Or let the kids use a decorative cookie cutter to press a design in the bread before popping the slice in the toaster. The design will come out white on a brown background. Another fast and easy recipe simply involves cream cheese and sunflower seeds. Let your children form the cream cheese into balls and then roll these in the seeds. It's a simple but tasty treat. The next recipe can't lose, it has the all-time favorite kid's food, peanut butter. The children should mix one-half cup of peanut butter with two tablespoons of honey. This sticky mixture is best stirred with a rubber spatula. Next, sprinkle about three to four tablespoons of non-fat dry milk onto the mixture and work it in, until you have a fairly stiff dough. Have the kids make little balls to roll in raisins, nuts or coconut. Your peanut butter balls are ready to eat and you might like the fact that they're a lot more nutritious than cookies or candy.
