If you have a security system and your phone line is cut, your system will become localized to your home only. If an unauthorized entry activates your alarm, it will only ring locally. There are alternatives, however, to protect against the phone line being cut, such as long-range back-up radio, cellular phone back-up, and other options. Most security systems have sensors that can detect when your phone line has been cut, and will send signals to your central security center or local police station. For additional information on phone lines and security, please consult a security systems expert.
