There are conflicting theories about when to exercise and eat for the optimum fat burning potential. Some experts feel that a rigorous workout first thing in the morning before breakfast will immediately burn fat, for there are lower levels of glycogen (GLI-co-jen) in the blood for the body to burn. Other experts feel that exercising later in the day helps maintain a higher metabolic rate throughout the evening.
