The show is returning to a three-judge panel after last year's foursome of Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson, who is reportedly in talks to replace Jimmy Iovine as a mentor on the show.
American Idol, which has yet to confirm the long-rumored return of Jennifer Lopez, is just several weeks away from auditions, which means the show will have to find a third judge and fast. Among those reportedly under consideration is Justin Bieber's manager Scooter Braun, whom Lopez suggested. Country star Urban is the only returning judge from last season's four-person panel.
