Sex Offenders In Hotels

Hotels and motels may be some of the few parts of town sex offenders can legally stay that doesn’t violate a safe zone restriction around a school or park.

But we found, when sex offenders stay, you probably will have no idea.

At the Lake Shore Motel in Mannford, we found four sex offenders registered at this address at one point. The property happens to fall within an area where sex offenders can legally live

The motel owner says he tries to keep sex offenders out… but he relies on police to notify him, many times three weeks or so after the sex offender has moved in. He told me he is in a difficult position because he doesn’t want to ask every person if they are a sex offender, and he doesn’t want to scare away other guests by posting a notice.
