Between celebrations, water slides and earlier hours, The Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum has various events for kids this summer.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday June 30, children who participated in the Tulsa Library’s Summer Reading Program are invited to celebrate good books at the Tulsa Zoo’s “Dream Big” event. Students who show their summer reading log at the admission desk will receive free zoo admission for the day. “Dream Big” focuses on nocturnal animals and their behaviors. Target and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries have donated 1,000 books for the first 100 children at the event.
Children can experience the “Big Chill” at the Tulsa Zoo. At 8 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday, until September 3 the Zoo will feature various inflatable water slides. Admission to the Big Chill is only $5 per person which includes an all day pass. Big Chill membership passes are $20 for the entire summer.
The Tulsa Zoo also allows visitors to take advantage of the cool early morning temperatures. The Zoo opens its gates at 7 a.m. every day throughout the summer. To find out more about the Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum visit
