Donning the appropriate training gear for sports is important for comfort and safety. Before beginning a running or walking training program its important to get fitted for the right type of shoes according to your individual stride and gait. Fleet Feet operates under fitlosophy meaning we outfit you with everything you need to get started or maintain your active lifestyle from the proper training gear to supported and coached training programs depending on your fitness level.

Being cool and comfortable throughout your workout helps to increase the enjoyment factor and can motivate you to keep going. Plus, there’s a huge safety factor. Technical fabrics help prevent chafing and proper shoes with a proper fit help prevent injury.

Tips for selecting the right active wear apparel:

1. Look for fabrics called dry-fit or technical that wick sweat away and control core body temperature
2. Ask sales staff to help you find the right pair of shoes according to your sport and running or walking style
3. Looks for items that are easily layered so you can add or remove layers as the temperatures fluctuate
4. Consider areas where skin feels the most friction like under the arms and between the thighs, make sure clothes fit comfortably in those areas.

Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa is a specialty running store with two locations in Tulsa:
(1.) KingsPointe Village Shopping Center
(2.) the Blue Dome District downtown.

About Fleet Feet:

For the past eight years, Fleet Feet Sports Tulsa has helped more than 6,000 Tulsans reach their fitness goals and build a foundation for a healthier life through their range of organized training classes. Tim and Lori Dreiling opened the first Fleet Feet Sports store in Tulsa in August 2003 and in July 2010 opened a second location in the Blue Dome District in downtown Tulsa.
Our goal has been, and continues to be, to create training programs to help individuals reach any goal they desire from walking a 5K to completing their first marathon. Everyone is welcome no matter what fitness level they’re currently at. We provide a supportive and knowledgeable staff to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
The Dreilings owned Oklahoma Runner Magazine (now known as Oklahoma Sports and Fitness Magazine) for nine years before selling it last year. While traveling they began noticing the involvement and engagement of running stores and the running communities they served and wanted to see the same thing for Tulsa. They chose to own a Fleet Feet franchise because they were owner-operated and highly engaged in the communities they served. The Fleet Feet Tulsa store was the 49th franchise to open and continues to be named on the top 50 list of running specialty retail stores in the nation.

Andrew Garfield says fame at young age is difficult to handle
Actor Andrew Garfield is glad he was well into his twenties before finding fame, because stardom at a young age would have sent him off the rails "like Justin Bieber" and he would have ended up in prison.
