In anticipation of Cinco De Mayo, St John's Health Club stopped by our studio with a quick salsa lesson. It's not only fun, but full of health benefits. Fitness Instructor Kendra Holmes-Morris has a list of the health benefits to salsa dancing:

5 benefits of salsa dancing / classes:
1. Engage lots of muscles, incorporating traditional fitness moves like squats and lunges into your choreography. "It tightens and tones your body from head to toe.
2. Fun! Highly enjoyable, so it doesn’t even seem like a workout
3. Great for all ages and fitness levels
4. Improves coordination
5. Aids in weight loss and can burn more than 400 calories per hour

St. John Siegfried Health Club offers Salsa/Zumba-style classes several times a week. Classes are free to health club members; day passes are available if individuals would like to come try out a class.
