In conjunction with September being Hunger Action Month, the Jewish Federation of Tulsa and the Food Bank have partnered on a community garden. It will be completed Sept. 15 with a dinner celebrating the opening of the garden. The 6,400 square foot space is in the star of David located at the Jewish Federation and the vegetables grown will go back to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma. Susan Tilkin, communications director at the food bank said she saw a growing desire within the hungry community for produce, and sees this garden as a way to fulfill the need.
