Get in the Mardi Gras spirit with festive cocktails. "The first drink is a Hurricane, which is beautiful and fruity but also very potent," Garrett Blackwood, owner of Blue Label Bartending School. "The second drink is a Sazerac, a drink created in New Orleans in the early 1900’s. This is a perfect example of the jazz-era drinks that have become popular lately."

Hurricane Recipe:

1. Hurricane glass filled with ice
2. 1 oz. Light Rum
3. 1 oz. Dark Rum
4. Fill with equal parts Orange Juice and Pineapple Juice
5. Top with 1/2 oz. Grenadine and 1/2 oz. Bacardi 151 Rum
6. Garnish with a Cherry

Sazerac Recipe:

1. Rocks glass filled with ice AND an empty rocks glass
2. In the empty rocks glass stir in two teaspoons of sugar, a splash of water, 1-1/2 oz. Rye Whiskey, two dashes of Bitters and a few cubes of ice
3. Discard the ice from the first glass and pour 1/2 oz. of Pernod
4. Turn the glass to coat the sides with the Pernod, then pour out the excess
5. Pour the mixture in the second glass into the Pernod-coated glass
6. Twist a lemon peel over the glass and rub the rim of the glass with the peel
7. Garnish with a lemon twist
