Decadent chocolate treats will be devoured 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. August. 14 at Club 209 for the 6th annual Life By Chocolate fundraiser. Samplings from several local vendors including Edible Arrangements, Panera, Glacier Confection, Barbee’s Cookies and more will be on hand. “you can smell the chocolate from the parking lot before you ever enter the club,” Angela Haist, event coordinator said. The event will raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. "It's a fundraiser I dreamt up in 2007 as a way to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society," she said. "Since then it’s grown to an annual event that has raised over $15,000 for the society. It’s an evening of fun and philanthropy while satisfying your sweet tooth!" Haist said. The silent auction will feature items from local restaurants, salons, yoga studios, local artists, running stores, personal trainers, fashion boutiques, massage, gym memberships, golfing and more. "All funds raised at the event benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; used to further research; facilitate local support groups; and provide free literature, co-pay assistance for patients and their families, and other programs," Haist said.
