With the influence of Eco-Friendly items, groups, ways of thinking, having a small little “eco-sphere” in your home is a great reminder that we are all living in this big world, but the smallest thing/issue can impact us in a big way. It’s a great lesson. So here's how you construct a terrarium:
"You need a simple jar or even a plastic bottle or container, some rocks, activated charcoal, moss and a variety of hardy, low light plants and whatever little decorations you want to add," Jackie Brown, owner of Interiors By Jackie Brown said. Charcoal is a key step into creating a long lasting terrarium. "This can be found at almost any pet supply store as it’s the stuff inside an aquarium filter. It helps keep mold and “extra grimmies” from growing in your terrarium," Brown said. "Do not think you can substitute regular charcoal or the brickettes you grill with. It’s not the same and will not give you the best results."
"You can you almost any variety of plant! It depends on what kind of terrarium you want to construct and manage. You can you water plants or air plants or just basic “water once a week plants” that provide lots of color and texture."
