1. What is the Get Fit at Any Age Challenge?
Opportunity to get people thinking about the possibility of finding fitness at any age, at any level of ability, and to positively impact their quality of life.
2. Can people really make changes in their physical fitness at any age?
Absolutely. All evidence and research supports that we can grow muscle as we age and age successfully. Many people view aging as a downward spiral destined toward disability. This is just not the case. You can combat decline with focused physical activity.
3. What is the best way for people to get started with their own exercise program?
Consult your health care provider, seek the advice of a fitness professional, and identify WHY you want to improve your physical health. What is going to motivate you to make the lifestyle changes necessary to be successful.
4. What is the best type of exercise for older adults to participate in?
Consistent! But once you get to that point a mixture of strength, endurance, balance and flexibility.
