When thinking of fall college football, boots and falling leaves usually come to mind. However, most people do not usually associate fall with a vacation. Fall is, actually, a great time to travel. Most vacation hot spots are less crowded with kids back in school. Unlike summer, fall offers cooler temperatures which are perfect for a get away. Great options for fall vacations include cruising, all-inclusive resorts, and beach resorts/hotels in the US. The top destinations that we see are Caribbean cruises, all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean as well as the occasional trip to Europe.
There is still plenty of time to plan a fall vacation. Flights and vacation options are typically more expensive the later a trip is planned. However, there are last minute cruise specials available as well as last minute resort specials. For example, every week Karisma resorts in Mexico offer a TGIF special. Typically this promotion begins Friday and is valid for 72 hours. Another option is a travel wholesaler promotion that begins each Sunday.
For those interested in a beach vacation, many resorts offer free nights during the fall, however the weather could be a problem. Secrets Resorts offer a FREEFALL promotion in which the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th night are free plus $200 in resort coupons.
For those wanting to go off of the coast, October is the World’s Largest Cruise Night in which travel agencies around the country will host what they call Cruise Nights, either virtually, physical or both. Cruise Line International Association coordinates this with the cruise lines and travel agencies every year in celebration of National Cruise Vacation Month. Most all of the CLIA cruise line members will offer a promotion of some sort for anyone booking during that time.
There are risks involved when shopping for a discounted vacation. When planning a trip based on price alone, guests are typically disappointed. It is important to plan trips early in order to receive the best discounts as opposed to shopping for an inexpensive trip last minute.
