The Tulsa Run, Route 66 Marathon and a plethora of other runs occur in the fall, and it takes work and effort to prepare for the running challenges. Emily Smith, owner of 918 Crossfit says staying hydrated is essential to run successfully. "Being hydrated is a must, but once you are ready to go we should always begin with some light
stretching," Smith said. "Getting stretches in between runs is also a key component to injury prevention."
Many people use poor form while running which can cause injury and inhibit performance, Smith said. There are tips to make you an efficient runner. "Use gravity and the natural movement of your body," she said. "The Tulsa Run is happening soon and is always a huge community event and a great thing to be a
part of…running or cheering. The Zombie Run will be the following weekend and will be a much shorter distance at 2.5 miles with lots of scary and exciting obstacles," Smith said.
