Blemishes, redness and under eye circles are common skin imperfections that women are constantly fighting. Amy Mary owner of Faccia Bella discusses her favorite products that help women combat these common problems.

When it comes to covering blemishes and acne, Mary suggests a yellow based creamy concealor.

“The creamier the concealor the better it covers [acne] without having to use a lot of product, and they yellow tone helps to conceal the redness,” says Mary.

Another problem with acne is the scars it can leave behind. Acne scars look like small indents in one’s skin. In order to cover these scars, Mary suggests applying a concealor or foundation with a brush, then once regular face makeup is applied, the scar will begin to disappear.

Some women have naturally red skin, also called rosaea. For this skin tone, Mary recommends a yellow tone foundation such as Mineral Liquid Foundation by Avon. The yellow base of the foundation helps tone down the red tent through out the day.

Mary also recommends yellow foundation and concealor to hides dark circles that typically form under the eyes.

“I like to use a yellow concealor stick by Maybeline,” says Mary. “It’s easy to use and does a great job covering with little product.”

When covering circles and blemishes with thick foundations, lines and wrinkles can become more prominent on one’s face. For this problem, Mary suggests applying concealor to troubled areas then applying a thin layer of foundation to the rest of the face.

“Make sure you always wipe the makeup out of the creases to avoid the makeup settling and accentuating the lines,” Mary says. “Also, don’t use too much powder in those areas, because powder is one of the first things to bring the wrinkles out.”

Mary recommends a moose foundation to women with fine lines and wrinkles.

“It’s lighter and doesn’t settle in these areas.”

Maybelline Yellow Corrector can be found at any local drugstore, or grocery store for approximately $5.

You can purchase the Avon products from your local Avon representative. The foundations range from $7-$16.
