Aren’t women generally very good listeners?Women are usually great listeners, while we men are often not so good at listening. Women become especially good at listening, once they have their first child.
She sleeps with one ear open. She is ready at a moment’s notice to respond to a cry in the night or a cough or any strange noise.
But sadly, women can get so busy listening to everyone else; but they don’t take time to listen to what their body is saying to them. Their body is trying to get their attention, but they aren’t listening.
So, how does a woman listen to her body?Think of this like the rules you learned when you were a kid. Your mother taught you that when you were out walking and came to the crosswalk or driving and came to a railroad track. Stop, Look and Listen!
So, take time to stop and take time to see what your body is saying to you.
- Do you have a new pain?
- Have you noticed that your drinking lots of water, but still can’t quench your thirst?
- Do you have to get up more than once in the night to empty your bladder?
- Have your bowel movements changed in form or color?
- Are you waking up with night sweats?
- Do you have a knot that has appeared in your neck, or breast or arm pit?
Any of these could be a sign that you have a significant health challenge that needs to be checked by your doctor. Seeing a doctor about changes you’ve found, can make the difference between life and death.
A good time to Stop Look and Listen is right after your morning shower. Stand in front of your mirror and take a good look at yourself. IF something isn’t right, then see a doctor.
