Farrell Family Bread is a family-owned local bakery. Farrell’s mixes, shapes, proofs, and bakes their breads in their bakery at 81st and Yale. They do have mixers to mix the dough, but it’s divided, proofed and shaped by hand ~ every single loaf. Farrell’s makes a great Challah braided loaf for Fridays and Saturdays. Challah is a traditional Jewish weekend bread and makes great French toast.
Farrell’s bakery uses unbleached and untreated flour and no preservatives, artificial colors, flavors, or dough conditioners in any of their breads. They don’t use any dairy in their breads, except those with cheese in them. Most of their breads are vegan friendly. Their whole wheat flour is 100% Oklahoma grown and ground, and it’s delivered to the bakery freshly ground every week or two.
Their monthly specialty bread calendar is available on their web page farrellbread.com
, but they make a 100% whole wheat with honey, pumpernickel, cherry pecan, cherry chocolate, and Tex-Mex with red and green bell peppers and jalapeño jack cheese.
In addition to fresh bread, Farrell’s has awesome cookies, pound cakes, coffee cakes, and cinnamon rolls on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. They also make antipasti and imported and domestic cheeses.
