An Evening of Wine & Roses has been held for the last 18 years at Tulsa Garden Center. It has evolved into an exciting and fun-filled event for the fall social season. On Friday, September 28, 2012, guests will stroll the five levels of the Tulsa Municipal Rose Garden, sampling the finest hors d’oeuvres and desserts that Tulsa’s top restaurants and caterers offer and sampling the top of the line wines that are available in the Tulsa market. This is often the only time that Tulsans will visit the Rose Garden and there is no better way to enjoy the roses, food and wines than in the relaxed ambience of this two-hour event.
Garden Tasting occurs in The Tulsa Municipal Rose Garden from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Over 35 restaurants and caterers will be offering their hors d’oeuvres and desserts and wines will be poured from the top domestic and international wineries as well as select local wineries.
Sponsor tickets cover a tasting held in the Garden Center Mansion. This is a more intimate affair, with more upscale food and wine offerings. It runs from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Sponsors can than proceed to the Rose garden for the garden tasting event.
Individual garden tasting tickets are $80 and Sponsor tickets are $130. Naturally all guests must be 21 years old.
The Evening of Wine & Roses starts with free valet parking. A baby grand player piano will provide music on the veranda during the Sponsor Tasting. There will be a photo booth where whimsical souvenir photos can be taken, Music will be provided by a DJ, but with a volume level kept conducive to visiting and conversation. Raffle tickets will be available for a $3,000 gift certificate from Moody’s Jewelry and a painting by Gil Adams, painted during the event will be auctioned off.
Call 918-746-5125 for tickets, but don’t wait too long. The deadline for ordering tickets by mail is September 21st. Several years tickets have sold out and guests turned away.
We can’t think of any better way to close out the summer than sampling truly great wines, sampling food that we normally don’t let ourselves have, and visiting with new and old friends in a magical setting of blooming roses and moonlight!
