The Oklahoma Society of Impressionists, formed in 1988, is an organization of artists who paint professionally in the impressionist genre. The membership has been limited to 11 members statewide in the past but will be adding new members in the near future. We're affiliated with the Tulsa Garden Center and two members occupy the Carriage House Gallery adjacent to the Tulsa Garden Center, where works from each member are on display.
We opened our doors on March 1st of this year. Along with the exhibition of artwork, we offer lessons in oil and acrylic painting on a limited basis. This location is probably the best area for inspiration in Tulsa. Woodward Park, The Rose Garden and the areas surrounding the TGC offer some of the best locations for painting out of doors as well as in studio.
Our studios are open Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the Carriage House Gallery on the grounds of the Tulsa Garden Center, 2435 South Peoria in Tulsa. Artwork and gift items are available for sale as well as lessons in oil painting. Beginners to intermediate level painters $25 per person for approximately 3 ½ hours instruction; $20 for Garden Center members.
The Oklahoma Society of Impressionists have always participated in shows or events that are fundraisers for worthy organizations or causes and will consider participating in shows to help any non-profit charity or organization that's for the benefit of the public.
