Hospitality House of Tulsa so graciously offered me the opportunity to dance in the fourth annual Time To Dance competition featuring local media figures paired with extremely talented ballroom dancers from Ballroom Revolution in Broken Arrow. It's going on April 6 so I've got a lot to learn in a little amount of time. We have 20 hours total to learn the choreography and rehearse the dances so we give everyone a killer show. I keep hearing the costumes are super fun! The most important part about this competition is that the proceeds go to the Hospitality House of Tulsa providing a short term home and services to families caring for their loved ones in a medical crisis. You can find more info here: http://www.tulsahospitalityhouse.org/

Here's what I've learned. It takes more than two months to be really good at dancing. Give me 10,000 hours and I'll master it. At least I hear you can master anything in that time.  We're dancing to the Mambo (think Dirty Dancing dance minus trying to balance on a tree branch). I've learned my hips to swing quite like they should. My wonderful dance partner Jeremy Wilson will have to swing and extra hard to make up for my lacking Latin hips. I'm also hoping for no wardrobe malfunctions and to just not fall.

Please join me in helping the HHT be able to serve families in their time of need. It's going to be at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the John Q Hammons Arena at the UMAC. Business casual or 1950s attire! There will be a dinner and sound fountain to relive the 50s. See you then!

Andrew Garfield says fame at young age is difficult to handle
Actor Andrew Garfield is glad he was well into his twenties before finding fame, because stardom at a young age would have sent him off the rails "like Justin Bieber" and he would have ended up in prison.
