While I was living in Phoenix, Arizona my husband bought me a book from the House of Night series by Tulsa authors P.C. and Kristin Cast. He bought me the book because he saw Kristin was wearing a Tulsa shirt on the back. He thought I would enjoy reading a book from Tulsa authors, since I grew up here. He was right. After reading the first book he bought me, which was the 5th book in the series I could not wait to read the others. I raced through the first 4 books in the series traipsing back and forth to the book store. Each trip to the book store I would buy my House of Night book and something else. Then one day it occurred to me, some of these books I could get at the library for free.
My first trip to the library after a long absence was a total surprise. Yes, the books with the industrial strength dust covers are still there, but you can also check out movies and music. I was surprised to find that not only did they have traditional books, but you can also check out e-books!
That began my new love affair with the library. From all the media you can possible enjoy to computer classes, writing classes and contests it is a great source for entertainment for you and your children. It is accessible to everyone. It doesn’t matter how much or how little money you have the library is available to you!
Get your library card and start learning. Pick up a book on a new hobby. Or sign up for a computer class. Better yet, enter the writing contest to add your story to the manuscripts inside! The possibilities are endless and it is all FREE!!
