A worker accuses a roofing company of not paying him for completed work, and the homeowner who already paid thousands of dollars for the new roof is stuck in the middle.
Our solving problems team investigated the roofing company and found out this isn’t the first time the owner has been accused of not paying workers.
Pat Lamp paid $7,500 for her new roof. John Webb says he was the worker who installed the roof, but he never saw a dime of that money. At first John said the roofing company owner told him he didn’t have the money to pay him because the homeowner hadn’t paid. John said he was told the homeowner had been out of the country. Pat, the homeowner says, that was a lie.
John says he’s tried to get paid, but the roofing company owner keeps telling him the same thing. John said, “He keeps telling me to stop calling because he’d call me when he has the money. He told me plain and simple he didn’t have the money.”
John said he’s considering legal action like others have done in the past.
